- The new windows have been installed and look very nice and should make a difference to the loss of heat from the premises.
- The heaters are also installed and working well with a choice of timed programmes so we are hoping they should cost a bit less to run than the old storage heaters.
- Iain did a great job getting the funding for the above projects.
- Callum Mowat from Janet Street Carpets has kindly donated a new carpet for the main sitting room.
- Linda has now emulsioned all of the main rooms in the Centre and it is looking lovely and fresh for us going back. Linda's neighbour, Janet, donated £300 for blinds for the office. These cost £180 but she insisted we use the surplus towards the paint. This was a big help in limiting costs to the Centre and thanks to Linda for all her hard work.
- A friend of Linda's donated two free standing hand sanitizing units which we have positioned at the entrances to the front and back doors.
- Linda and Jean organised an online raffle which raised a total of £3,041. The Bank of Scotland did a fund raising match on this figure up to a maximum of £500 which we have now received making a grand total of £3,541.
- Barbara organised the calendar this year and it has sold very well. She sold approximately 130 calendars and made a profit of £616.30 as a lot of people gave us more than the asking price of a calendar.
- We would like to start offering therapies after the New Year. I have spoken to Gillian and Laura who feel they would prefer to work from home as opposed to the Centre at the moment. Obviously, the cost of the therapies will be met by the Centre. We will put out a separate email with details of how to arrange appointments shortly.
- Malcolm and Carolyn will post this on our web page and facebook. In the meantime, could anyone who is interested in this arrangement please let us know. The therapists have made a stipulation that they would not be prepared to offer therapy to anyone who is currently receiving cancer treatment, ie chemotherapy and radiotherapy. If anyone required transport we will look into Caithness Rural Transport to see if they would be willing to assist.
- With the news of the vaccine hopefully it should not be too long before we can start doing the therapies in the Centre again.
- Malcolm is adding a page called "Testimonials" to our web site. The Men's Group have already done this and had positive feedback. So if anyone would like to add a testimonial just let us know and we will pass it on to Malcolm for publication on NHCISC web site. Email at: malcolm.nhcisc@btinternet.com
